Donna Summers, one of the great singers of our generation, has sadly past away today. In remembrance of her, go celebrate her music and enjoy this very unique clip of a performance she did in 1975 on a Dutch absurdist sketch show called ‘Van Oekel’s Discohoek’. In it she joins the host in a bizarre love sketch before giving a beautiful rendition of ‘Love to love you’. Donna Summer was 63 years old.

Today marks the anniversary of Jim Henson, who passed away on this day 12 years ago. He is renowned and most famous for being the creator of The Muppet Show. A great artist with a great canvas of work. Above you’ll find a special short film he made, called Ripples (1967). It’s something very different then what you would expect from the man who gave birth to Kermit the Frog and Miss Piggy. Barton F. Graf 9000 is one of my favorite ad agency’s right now. Besides hiring people who shave the agency’s name in their head, they put the smart type of funny back in advertising. Their name, as unique as it is, may not directly ring a bell but if hop on to their website and you’ll discover some very good work. Their latest campaign for pasta sauce brand Ragú, is one of my favorite ad series of the week. In a cute and fun way they show you how to deal with kids who can be tricky eaters. BONUS: a nice Behind the Work article on Ad Age by Ann-Christine Diaz.

When I was very little, before there were any videos to love, there were books. Many, many books. Read to me by my parents before I went to bed, these stories sparked my imagination before anything else. One of the books that always stayed with me was Where the Wild Things Are. So here a little tip of the hat to one of the greatest child authors ever, Mr. Sendak: thank you for the nightmares and let the real wild rumpus begin!
